FOWLA has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Los Angeles Conservation Corps to provide bi-weekly tree maintenance for 72 trees on Pico Boulevard.
The MOU calls for LACC to “Provide water and support to trees in the form of re-staking, retying tree ties, cleaning the tree well from weeds and debris, and light pruning necessary.”
The Pico Beautification Project is spearheaded by Lisa Morocco under the auspices of the Westside Neighborhood Council.
Funding for the project was secured for FOWLA through the efforts of Fix The City as part of a settlement with a West L.A. development project.
The project is designed to enhance the appearance of Pico Boulevard for the benefit of local businesses and their customers.
